“To the angel of the
Church in Thyatira write: These are the words of the Son of God whose eyes are
like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze. I know your deeds,
your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that you are now doing
more than you did at first. Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate
that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching, she
misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed
to idols. I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is
unwilling....” – Revelations 2:18-21.
You probably read the above quotation of the
scriptures and began wondering why I went to such great length to extract that
passage from the Holy Book. But, to Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR I write: Your
struggles towards building a Nigeria where all and sundry can mutually succeed
and co-habit has been seen. The development across all spheres of the nation’s
economy is such that lays a solid foundation for the success of Nigerian
citizens. We see your labour of love, your ceaseless strengthening of the
government system towards closing all the loopholes through which funds are
being siphoned out of the economy; we see your fight against corruption via the
re-definition of government agencies and development of a public administration
system with no flaws. We see them all, I particularly.
Nevertheless, I hold against your person your
continued tolerance of certain criminal elements within the spheres of our sane
society. In the consciousness of most Nigerians today, you failed in your fight
against corruption, not because you did not fight exhaustively, but because you
did not fight with iron fists. Buhari is feared today as an agent of blind and
mindless change because he will not hesitate to throw open the gates of
Kirikiri maximum prison to those he reckons to be enemies of the country. These
enemies of our society you have identified, you have exchanged words with and
in fact, you have even dined with. They should be rotting in jail by now. You
like the angel of the Church in Thyatira have done well but have tolerated
wrong people within the Nigerian society.
I wonder Mr President, why Bola Ahmed Tinubu
still walks free in a sane Nigerian society. Do we begin to recount his
multiple foreign accounts as discovered in 2011 which your government helped
him cover up? Or do we begin to mention the gross financial mismanagement of
his tenure as Governor of Lagos State which the EFCC has refused to prosecute?
Or do we talk about his ceaseless campaign of calumny which is capable of
promoting violence and mass killings during elections? Or do we begin to talk
about his various atrocities of character assassination for which the likes of
Buhari would have given him a 300 years imprisonment verdict? Why GEJ do you
still tolerate this anti-social element within the Nigerian democratic space? Why
will Tinubu be allowed to continually implore youths to take to violence if
electoral verdicts do not favour his party? Is it impossible to tame this loose
wildling? Why are you being too tolerant?
In a saner society, Femi Fani-Kayode would be
in jail for his crimes of financial mismanagement as a public office holder,
character assassination and his unbridled political adultery. If you did not
deal with your sworn enemy in the person of Bola Tinubu, what are the hopes
that you will deal with your friends? Aside strengthening the government institutions,
it is time Mr President to throw open the gates of our maximum prisons. People
need to go to jail.
Why should Lai Mohammed walk free in a sane
society, going about corrupting the minds of young ones and turning them into
willing tools in the hands of devilish politicians? Why is Ali Modu Sheriff not
behind bars yet? Why is Muhammadu Buhari not facing trials for his crimes
against humanity while he was Military Head of State? Why is T.Y. Danjuma not
being quizzed by the EFCC about the running of the Petroleum Ministry under his
watch? Why did you pardon Alamiesiegha? Why has Olusegun Obasanjo not been
prosecuted for all the corruption scandals of his tenure, especially the
botched award of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway? Why is Wale Babalakin being made
to face the music alone when OBJ is just as culpable as him if not more?
If I were President, I will start the jailing
process from Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Femi Fani-Kayode and let the dance-to-jail
procession trickle down the line to every single person who have sabotaged the
progress of Nigeria at some point or the other. If OBJ jailed Bode George, S.M.
Afolabi and prosecuted Tafa Balogun, why is OBJ himself not spending his old
age in jail by now for the crimes against humanity he committed in Odi, Bayelsa
State? Why is he not answering to the massive bribery cases during the third
term saga?
You see, because you have let them walk the
corridors of power unchecked, Tinubu has had the opportunity to claim sainthood
and lead a band of rogues who claim to be change agents; OBJ has found the
opportunity of self-vindication and can now claim to be a National hero with
his book of lies ‘My Watch’. Because you refused to send them all to jail,
Muhammadu Buhari has seen nothing bad in the killing of one Ogedengbe and the
mindless jailing of elder statesmen who were not found guilty of the crimes for
which he jailed them. Your refusal to open Kirikiri to massive admission of
guests has now turned Lai Mohammed to a perpetual liar with an unbridled mouth
and an uncontrollable penchant for instigation of the society against
government based on falsehood. Why I ask you, have you allowed our society
suffer plundering in the name of change?
But all hope is not lost. You have the months
leading to elections and another four year term to rectify all these anomalies.
Kirikiri is big enough to host them all for our society will be better off
without them. The youths are being brainwashed while these criminals cool off
in their ill-gotten mansions, and you will just sit and watch? You better not.
At no time has sanity itself been placed under so much duress as this and in
this hour of general insanity, I hope you will make the fear of Kirikiri the
beginning of wisdom for these poli-thieves!
I rise!
