On July 10 2014, Bishop David Oyedepo paid a
courtesy visit to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State in Osogbo the State
Capital. Being a few weeks to the August 9 elections, the media space was
quickly put awash with news of Bishop Oyedepo endorsing the candidature of
Aregbesola. The Living Faith Bishop in his speech said, “any governance that is producing results
and affecting the lives of vast majority of the people, must be deeply appreciated” (http://www.naij.com/69451.html). This sounded to all supporters of Rauf Adesoji
Aregbesola as a direct endorsement of the candidature of their Principal. I
remember how most of my Facebook friends began quickly sharing the picture
below:
How can one blame a servant of God for saying
in clear terms what he feels about the administrative style of a Governor? Isn’t
it the role of Prophets to say the truth as they are divinely inspired or as
they may humanly feel? It was personally painful to me at the time, probably
because I supported a different candidate at that gubernatorial poll. Yet, I
had no divine right let alone human right to castigate this very revered Prophet
for speaking his mind....or the mind of God as the case may be.
At this time, I knew APC image makers to be the
likes of Semiu Okanlawon, Goke Butika and their likes, Sulaiman Solarboy
Adesola was as well a good jingoist at the time (I pray he reaps fruits of his
tireless labour sha). I never knew the likes of Kayode Ogundamisi and Bunmi
Awoyemi. At the time, they never came out of whatever closet they were hiding
to commend the man of God for speaking the kind of ‘truth’ they wanted to hear.
I remember Solarboy openly commended the Bishop; kudos bro. It becomes shocking
however, when the likes of Ogundamisi and Awoyemi are now coming out to condemn
the man of God for speaking the kind of ‘truth’ they do not want to hear! The
stand of these APC dogs on the assertions of Bishop Oyedepo further confirms my
long-standing belief that truth is true when it suits the APC but the same
truth becomes ‘untrue’ when it opposes their beliefs. What hypocrisy!
A few days ago, Kayode Ogundamisi went online
to report a false version of the sermon of Bishop Oyedepo and I quickly had to
write a rebuttal just as many other persons did who keenly followed the events.
Just as the dust was settling on the Ogundamisi case, one faceless Bunmi
Awoyemi through the platform of Sahara Reporters wrote another epistle of lies,
lunacy and falsehood. I fathom that these dogs of the APC fold are bent on
rubbishing the personality of Bishop Oyedepo for the purpose of helping their
masters plunder his flock. I ask them, where were they hiding when Pastor
Kalejaye of the RCCG came out to spit fire on GEJ’s administration? Was Pastor
Kalejaye truthful because he spoke for the APC? Were his utterances not gross
violations of the pulpit of Christ? Has Bishop Oyedepo made any statement that
could be so clearly described as partisan as that of Kalejaye? Oyedepo was
their friend when he spoke highly of Aregbesola, does he now become their enemy
when he has refused to associate with Buhari and Osinbajo based on obvious
reasons?
These two unthinking writers labelled Bishop
Oyedepo an antagonist of Buhari, premised on his belief that he (Buhari) will Islamize
Nigeria. This claim is a very close cousin of irreparable madness. If Bishop
Oyedepo could speak highly of Ogbeni, which many regarded as endorsement, why
should anybody tag him anti-Islam? Was Aregbesola also not accused of planning
to Islamize Osun State before Bishop Oyedepo ‘endorsed’ him? Or is the Bishop
just beginning to acquire his anti-Islam stance? In the Bishop’s speech, he
asked God to open the gates of hell on whoever opposed the peace of Nigeria; he
claimed God had anointed him to lead a huge battle against the Boko Haram sect
and encouraged Nigerian citizens to self-defend themselves against terrorists. How
do Boko Haram terrorists translate into muslims? Have the Nigerian Islamic
community not constantly distanced itself from these insurgents? Or are the duo
of Ogundamisi and Awoyemi trying to tell Nigerians that Bishop Oyedepo’s
assertions are a threat to their paymasters because they are indeed the
sponsors of Boko Haram?
Awoyemi in that folly-infested write-up claimed
Namadi Sambo told supporters in Jigawa State that GEJ has been so good to
muslims that all the service chiefs under his cabinet are muslims. Vice
President Sambo will either be joking to say this, or Bunmi Awoyemi is
completely insane or rather suffering from some form of hallucination. Of a
truth, Nigerian Service Chiefs are four out of which two are indeed practising
Christians. Infact, the Chief of Defence Staff AVM Alex Badeh is a Christian.
Indeed, falsehood has turned APC and their Awoyemi-ish dogs into lunatics.
As Awoyemi concluded that write-up, Section 95 (3) of the Electoral Act, states that “places designated for
religious worship, police station and public offices shall not be used for
political campaigns, rallies and processions or to promote, propagate or attack
political parties, candidates, their political ideologies or programmes.” How exactly
has Bishop Oyedepo campaigned for GEJ? There are video evidences to that Sunday
Service, is there any point in that service where Bishop Oyedepo instructed the
members of his congregation to vote GEJ? Or is APC afraid his endorsement might
swing public opinion in GEJ’s favour? Why go after a respected man of God who
never made any direct statements for or against any of the major political
institutions? Why did they not instruct their attack dogs to go after Pastor
Enoch Adeboye for closely relating with them days after the emergence of
Osinbajo? Must all who do not relate with APC be wrong? This is the highest
height of political hypocrisy Nigeria has ever witnessed.
I sincerely ask Bunmi Awoyemi and Kayode
Ogundamisi and others who will seek to propagate their writings of fallacy to
tread softly. Bishop Oyedepo’s prayers to God for the opening of the gates of
hell on all those who oppose the peace of Nigeria will definitely be made
manifest, the duo will be better off without such hell experience when the
manifestation begins. The utterances of Bishop Oyedepo has no divisive
tendencies, Ogundamisi and his cohorts are the ones seeking to pitch Christians
against Muslims by inferring that by Boko Haram, Bishop Oyedepo meant all
muslims. To watch a video of the visit of President Goodluck Jonathan to Canaan Land and clear all doubts, kindly click here.
The gates of hell indeed need to be let loose.
Something has to rid our nation of this coalition of liars and truth benders. As a quick response to these enemies of peace, Bishop Oyedepo wrote today:
"Every one reading this listen, I take no side with any political party and i'm not accountable to any politician and any political party.... It's in the moment of your decision and the choices you make next month in the forth coming elections that the destiny of Nigeria is going to be shaped for the future... Destruction is coming upon those that has been opposing and oppressing Nigeria, the judgement of God is coming upon the wicked in Nigeria very soon... I like you all not to get me wrong, Whether you are for President Jonathan or General Buhari, the choice is all yours... For the information that has been circulating that i said Hell will be let Lose on those opposing the government of Jonathan; yes that's for those who want to destroy Nigeria and not for those who doesn't support Jonathan re - election. You all have right to your opinions and will- power, no one can force any candidate on you. Listen i'm not campaigning for Jonathan, and if he's your preferred choice, then vote for him. And if Buhari is your choice go ahead and vote for him. Go ahead in the power given to you and vote in your choice and i see God backing you up.I'm not for any politician and i'm not for any political party... God bless you all"
Amen daddy....
Namaste!
