Update: SSS HEADQUARTERS NOW HEAVILY GUARDED BY ARMY, SOME ESCAPEES RE-ARRESTED

As the dust settles on the attempt by certain Boko Haram detainees to escape the SSS Headquarters in Asokoro Abuja, the Nigerian Army has since mounted tight security on the Yellow House.

At the end of the crossfire that ensued, a number of Boko Haram escapees were re-arrested by combined forces of the SSS and the Nigerian Army. The exact number of re-arrested persons is still being awaited.

We will keep you posted....

Update: OPERATIVES KILL 18 BOKO HARAM ESCAPEES IN A DARING JAILBREAK

The death toll on the side of the Boko Haram insurgents stands at eighteen in the just ended attack on the SSS headquarters.

The insurgents who according to Marilyn Ogar attempted to escape detention at the headquarters overpowered certain operatives and launched a daring attack on the SSS headquarters with ammunitions snatched from these operatives. This attack according to reports lasted for almost two hours.

However, the Nigerian Army promptly came to the rescue leading to the death of 18 Boko Haram insurgents, according to a source in the SSS.

What is yet unknown is the number of casualties recorded on the side of the SSS and what damage WS done to the headquarters.

We will keep you posted!

ABATI, OKUPE, OMOKRI, NIGERIAN BROADCAST STATIONS SILENT AS BOKO HARAM ATTACK FIZZLES OUT

Hours after the reported attack of the Boko Haram sect on the SSS headquarters fizzled out, no statement has yet been credited to the trio of Reuben Abati, Doyin Okupe and Reno Omokri.

The popular GEJ 'attack lions' has remained conspicuously silent on the potential threat to the life of Mr. President and a major breach of security in an area expected to be the safest in the country.

As of now, it is not known where Mr. President has been whisked to, neither has the SSS come clean on the real situation of things. So far, Marilyn Ogar the Director of SSS has claimed it was an attempted jailbreak, but an attempted jailbreak that led to shooting for about an hour leaves loads of questions to be asked.

Nigeria's major broadcasting houses are also yet to cover the scene of the shooting and as most Nigerians believe, they have fallen short of international standards of journalism by this very obvious laxity or intentional negligence.

For now, statements are still being waited from even Boko Haram.

We will keep you posted!

JUST IN: HEAVY SHOOTING AROUND SSS HEADQUARTERS

The news just reaching us has it that there has been heavy shooting at the SSS Headquarters in Abuja.

The gunmen believed to be Boko Haram sect members have laid siege to the Headquarters for much of the past hour.

It cannot be directly said if their real target is the SSS headquarters or the Aso Rock Villa which directly overlooks the SSS headquarters.

We will keep you posted.

God bless Nigeria.

AN OPEN LETTER TO MR. ABBA MORO, THE MINISTER OF INTERIOR, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

Dear Minister,

I send high regards as the office you so temporarily occupy deserves. I must not, being a pure-breed African, forget to tender my respectful regards to you being not only an elder, but one capable of fathering my person. Receive my best regards.

Unlike Japhet Omojuwa who in the past week attempted to air his grievances on the recently botched Nigerian Immigration Service recruitment exercise by spraying red paint on the premises of the Ministry of Interior, the entrance to your office precisely, I will prefer to tow a more gentlemanly approach and serve you the grievances of Nigerian youths on an intellectual, yet fearless platform. I do not only convey the minds of Nigerian youths as to how their lives were mal-handled at the various screening centres, I convey also their heartfelt disappointment in the non-fatherly manner in which you reacted to the aftermath of the jamboree screening exercise.

Prior to the D-day, Nigerian youths who applied for the said Immigration positions had been in high spirit trying to get themselves eligible for the screening exercise, gathering medical reports, identification documents, travelling across the length of the country to reach their examination states. You should not be surprised, they had high hopes because they felt the open screening exercise was a wide diversion from the common backdoor practice of the Nigerian Civil Defence. To them at the time, you seemed like a good man of some sort.

However, those hopes were not enough to suppress their utter surprise when they got to their various examination centres. The crowd was intimidating, the process was laughable and not only was their lives handled as crap, they were made to realize the real state of the Nigerian nation...full of crap! How could Nigerians, leaders of tomorrow be treated like packs of crap just so they could get employment to serve their own fatherland?

I was not part of the shocked pack, at least not until you issued a statement concerning the death of a good number of these applicants. I cleaned my ears and I still heard you place the blame for their deaths on their heads! You looked so gentle, yet you were spitting words that could only escape the mouth of a Mobutu Seseseko! Even Governor Adams Oshiomhole who suddenly became famous for his ‘go and die’ blunder would have had to take a lesson in blabbering from your exalted self. How could blame these young souls for dying when sixty thousand of them had just a single gate to pass through into the National Stadium? How could you blame them for attempting to do their utmost to secure a place in the service of their fatherland? How could you blame these ones, whose fatherland you swore an oath to serve for their untimely death at the hands of your incapacity?

Truth be told with all sense of humility sir, your words displayed the highest sense of tyranny and a steep descent into wickedness. I only need to remind you once, that somehow, someday, sometimes soon, your children or grandchildren will find themselves boxed into a corner that way, and what would you have fate do to them? Kill them and have them blamed for it?

On behalf of the entire community of youths in Nigeria, I wish to demand without mincing words, a sincere apology from your person, for according to recent news, you owned up to the mistakes made but you never tendered any serious apology. So, we demand apologies for the words you spoke for those words desecrated the sacredness of the lives of those ones your Ministry terminated through the incapacity of the Ministry and its consultant Rexel.

In the absence of unreserved apologies to the dead, the maimed and the living, the whole world will see you for who you are, an unrepentant killer, a phenomenal failure in a Federal Ministry and the worst nightmare of Nigerian youths. And in the light of that, we will pray for more Japhets, so we can give you as much trouble as you deserve, until you simply can handle it no more.

I do sincerely hope that you will act in all decency and pay your respects to the spirit of the dead while you tow the path of honour in apologizing to the living.

Receive sir, the assurances of my highest regards.

Thank you sir.

OSUN AND THE AREGBESOLA PARADOX

We are in an age where politicians say a thing and do an entirely opposite thing. You hardly can imagine how far these dare-devils are willing to go to serve us undignified lies and horror-stricken hopes.

In Osun State however, Aregbesola's style of serving lies is definitely unrivalled! He says something, and obvious results of his actions and inactions lead us to realize we are being fooled. Below are some of the evidences of his paradoxical creativity...

1. He started the 'Agba Osun' programme which pays select elders #10,000/month. However, pensioners have to protest before they get paid! At this time in March, pensioners are yet to be paid January allowances!

2. He launched the widely applauded 'Opon IMO' scheme but till date, teachers do not have access to the tablets neither do 75% of the students.

3. He demolished classroom buildings that he considered to he dilapidated, but three years into his administration, 80% of the replacements are yet to be completed!

4. He openly rubbished the #5000 bursary payment of the past government and claimed his government would pay better. Till date however, he has paid bursary just once, #10,000 and only to final year students!

We could go on and on and count, but I hope he will retrace his theatrical steps as August fast approaches!

Salud!

HELP! I AM PREGNANT FOR MY FRIEND'S HUSBAND

Dear Taiwo,

I have never believed in nemesis and right from when I was young, I have always felt I could have whatever I wanted.  My mother who always encouraged me to flaunt my beauty and take delight in vain things also did not help me. This made me grow up to believe that I can always have whatever I wanted, not only that; the best of everything should always be mine.
With this mind set, I was set to conquer the world and take everything. My best and childhood friend was however of a different opinion. Tiwalade, a quiet, kind-hearted unassuming lady. She couldn’t have been my friend if she wasn’t kind and extremely nice, because I know I could be nasty and bad if I chose to be.
Tiwalade tolerated all my excesses and she remained my friend for a long time, even through thick and thin and when nobody would relate with me, she was there.
We were inseparable and always doing things like twins. Although, quiet and reserved, Tiwalade was very brilliant and she has had course to bail me out of many difficult situations, especially at school and with my studies.
Like I stated earlier, we started school together, and we attended the same schools. When we sat for our Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE), I managed to pass while she passed in flying colours. I wouldn’t have been able to secure a university admission if not for her mother’s help.
She helped in getting me admission to study the same course with her daughter. And because of her mother’s influence in the university community, we got accommodation to stay in the same room.
Although, reserved, Tiwalade has a way of enjoying life. We attended parties together, but it was always to my delight that I always attracted the best guys. I have tried several times to find out if this really bothered my friend, but sincerely she was never. She enjoyed whatever came her way and let the remaining be.
I was however, surprised when in our final year in school, we attended a friend’s birthday party which had children of the high and mighty and who is who in the nation in attendance.
I was happy and pleased with myself, because that day, I was at my best.
The party was already in full swing when this guy came in, I would not want his name mentioned for obvious reasons.  He became the belle of the party and every lady courted his attention, except for my friend Tiwalade.
I was however surprised that out of all the beauties at the party, though non-chalant she was the one who got his attention that night. I was shocked; why not me?
He took us back to the hostel even before the party ended. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have followed them, but because I wanted to get the guys attention, I decided to follow them. He had no eyes for me and this got me really angry and I made up my mind to get him at all cost.
Apart from setting out to get him, I also began to tell my friend negative tales about him, knowing her mindset, she was not bothered, and she even told me that she had no intentions of having anything serious with him as she was only catching fun.
Fortunately, for her and to my disappointment, the fun became a reality. He proposed marriage to her even before we left school and they got married as soon as we finished service. He did not even allow her to go into the labour market; she started her own business, a boutique immediately. Tiwalade did not go to Dubai, she started with Italy and places like that. Before long, she became a big girl.
She prevailed on her husband who doesn’t seem to like me a bit to help me secure a job. Because of my friend, he did and did not mince words to tell me that.
Before I could say jack, Tiwa gave birth to a set of twin boys who both looked every inch like their father this made her husband and his family to really love her.
I learnt that Tiwa’s late father-in-law was a twin, and they all believed that he reincarnated through Tiwa’s babies.
After the elaborate naming ceremony party, I became very sad, I didn’t realise my countenance was obvious until a colleague in the office who went with me to the party asked what was eating me up.
I told her a friend of, mine snatched my boyfriend, and she didn’t allow me land before asking if Tiwa is the friend. I asked how she knew; she replied that it was written all over me at the party. She said she could help me. She did by taking me to see a spiritualist who after listening to my narration told me that if I insisted that my friend snatched my man, he could help me, but what he saw was that Tiwa and her husband were made for each other.
He said he could help me by giving me some charms which would allow me get his attention, he would date me and equally give me some money which will make my life comfortable. He however warned me that for no reason must I get pregnant for him, because I am destined to have just one child, there won’t be an opportunity for an abortion also then day Tiwa’s husband finds out I am pregnant, the juju will lose its potency.
He told me I can never be happy as a second wife and Tiwa’s husband would not even take a second wife. I promised him I will be careful.
The juju was very potent. I visited Tiwa’s husband in his office three days after I started the concoction as instructed by the juju man. I was surprised at his change of attitude. Gradually, we started dating and once in awhile when he is in his senses he would plead with me that for no reason must his wife know about us.
I visited the juju man almost all the time and after renewing the juju, he repeated his warning that I must never get pregnant.
My friend’s husband gave me a huge amount of money to start a business of my own too; I did, but did not leave my job. He bought a porch car for me. I told Tiwa that the source of my changed status was a man I met who came on from the US, she advised me to hold on to him and make sure that he married me. Quite unassuming, she even offered to take me to her Sheppard at the spiritual church her husband’s family attended so that he would help me with prayers.
I was always careful not to get pregnant. I have dated my friend’s husband for over two years and discovered that I was three months pregnant two weeks ago.
I never had sex with him without condom. It only happened once, travelled out of town and we both had too much to drink. We had sex and I believing that it wasn’t my ‘danger’ period forgot about it. We have had sex after then. I didn’t even know that I was pregnant, because I still had my normal monthly period, until my mother raised the issue.
I told her not to worry. People started insinuating that I was pregnant I denied it. Late last week, baba, the spiritualist called and told me that I have gone contrary to his instructions and I could get myself in trouble. I was shocked and said how, he said I was pregnant. I was shocked and went to take a test which confirmed that I was pregnant.
I don’t know what to do? I don’t know if Tiwa’s husband had found out because he has stopped picking my calls. My mother who used to be my strongest ally too is against me.
From the onset, she didn’t support my dating Tiwalade’s husband. Please, what should I do? I feel so alone and afraid. I have never been in a situation I couldn’t handle before, please, help me.

WHAT SHOULD BE THEME OF THE NATIONAL CONFAB?

As delegates across the 36 states of the federation gather in Abuja to deliberate on the way forward for our dear nation, I believe the theme of this confab should be Employment Generation or SME development. It is only this direction of discourse that can guarantee that occurrences like the one pictured above do not get repeated.

So help us God!
